Bangalore based Kalavadhyam Academy for

Arts and Cultures imparts training on Kerala's traditional art forms like Chenda Melam, Thayambaka, Panchavadhyam, Sopana Sangeetham and Ashtapathi. One of its Unit - Kalavadhyam Kshethra Vaadhya Kala Sangham has 112 professional artists specialized in Kshethra Vaadhya Kalakal. Among such efficient and prominent melam Artists he is one of the young champ who has led the melam team in Bengaluru. Kalavadhyam Laxminarayanan became the first Melam Pramani during the year 2022 for a Panchari Melam held at Anantagiri Ayyappan Temple (Karnataka Sabarimala). Also he is the first and youngest melam pramani of KAAC in Bengaluru.


Learning an art form at your early age is an added advantage for you to have the flexibility. And learning this with devotion, dedication, hard work and patience are all you need to have to reach the destination of success. Kalavadhyam Laxminarayanan is an epitome. This young boy started his journey in this art form at the age of 10. And now at his 17, Kalavadhyam Laxminarayanan has performed in Bengaluru and Kerala for various major melams along with senior melam Pramanis like Peruvanam Satheesan Marar, Peruvanam Sankaranarayanan Marar, Cherussery Kuttan Marar and others. He has successfully performed in major melams like Peruvanam Pooram, Kanjoor Kodiyettam, Chathakudam Pathamudhayam, Manakkodi Prathistadhinam, etc. In 2023, Kalavadhyam Academy honored him with Best Performer of the Year.


Kalavadhyam Laxminarayanan learnt his melam art forms under the guidance of his Gurunaadhan Shri, Kalavadhyam Dheeraj Edat. All the learning methodologies and guidance given to him by his Gurunaadhan is followed by him and also he ensures to maintain the same during his performances. Laxminarayanan is trained in Chenda and Ilathaalam. At his young age he even led the Ilathaalam team of Kalavadhyam for couple of melam programs in Bengaluru.


Laxminarayanan hails from Attingal district in Kerala. He was brought up in Bengaluru from his childhood where his father Mr. Dinesh D, is an entrepreneur and mother Mrs. Sreedevi Dinesh is a home maker. Laxminarayanan is now pursuing his 11th Grade. His elder brother Anantha Padmanabhan is currently pursuing his graduation in Chennai. The contribution in terms of support and motivation from his family is a major path to reach his success.
